Holy Unction
Unction is the rite of anointing the sick with oil, or the laying on of hands, by which God’s grace is given for the healing of spirit, mind and body
– The Book of Common Prayer, 861
A public weekday Healing Mass is offered each Wednesday at 10:00 AM with special intentions for the sick. Those in attendance are invited forward for the laying on of hands and Holy Unction. In addition, regular as well as frequent visits are made by the rector to area hospitals for the administration of Holy Unction and Holy Communion from the Reserved Sacrament.
In case of illness, the Minister of the Congregation is to be notified (The Book of Common Prayer, pg. 453)
